The Media Marine company was formed to provide specialist marine services to the television and film industries. We can provide Hardboat charter, RIB charter, commercial divers, technical divers, ROV services, safety services as well as consultancy on any marine matters. We can also put together a professional team from the TV and film industry, with many years experience, capable of any film or television work including construction.

The aim is to provide a level of professionalism and expertise with fully qualified and experienced personnel working to the highest standards.

Having worked in the TV and film industry for the last 8 years the companies main director, Ed Gibson, fully understands the demands and needs of a film crew.

The main vessel ‘James Edgar’ is an 80ft steel ship capable of travelling anywhere. It is an ex-arctic trawler which has been fully converted to provide a safe, comfortable and ideally suited environment whether it be for film crews, special effects, dive teams or general charter work.

The ship has various open deck levels with large amounts of space for filming, tech crews or divers to enjoy. A ‘crow’s nest’ on the forward tripod will also be put in place during the current refurbishments which will be ideal for filming or viewing purposes.
